What Are The Components Of Data Minimization?

5 questions from Jonathan Albernaz, software engineer, everRun, and ztC Edge developer

Have you always wanted to be an engineer? What initially interested you in this type of career?

I knew I wanted to work with computers from a very young age. I remember in high school they asked each of the students what we want to be when we grow up, and mine was really weird because I wrote Computer Programmer. Which wasn't usually the number one choice for kids.

No one in my family had technical experience, so I just got into technology. When I was growing up, I had an old computer, which I did not know about then how it works. Systems like Windows were still unconventional and I remember working with an old IBM system that didn't have a graphical operating system. I was just fascinated by how I managed to get it to work.

Which engineer has influenced your career? Is there someone you currently admire and want to be?

I went to vocational school where they split the curriculum in half they studied electronics and half studied traditional academic disciplines. So I was really influenced by the classmates I was with for four years. Since then, my colleagues have always influenced me - and even more so in the competition! I look at my peers and use them as motivators to do better.

As for renowned engineers in the industry, I attend many of the lectures at the Keith Gregory convention. It covers a higher level discussion that focuses on the right direction for software development. And I find her really charming.

If you only had to pick one industry innovation to celebrate / recognize it as a revolutionary achievement on Global Engineering Day, what would it be?

Light. Internet. Entirely new industries have sprung up out of the Internet, connecting those that weren't even directly connected. He brought this powerful message to the masses in the friendliest, most economical and economical way possible. While there are definitely cases where the Internet is used for negative purposes, the openness of so much information available is truly impressive. A completely new form of communication has been rebuilt and redefined ... I can definitely keep talking about the Internet.

What would you like your colleagues to know about what you do every day? In other words, if you could resolve any misunderstandings about your job, what would it be?

Specifically, as far as the software that powers our ztC Edge product line, its core brain runs on this proprietary pseudo-baseline management system that is not found anywhere else in the industry. And because of this, I and a small group of people are the only ones who really understand how it completely works and works. This can be a little scary and adds a lot of pressure. Given how robust the codebase is and how complex the software can be, changing the behavior of the system isn't as trivial as clicking a button. You must look at things holistically. While someone might say in the program, “Hey, make this button do a certain thing,” it's not that easy. Especially when it is a change in behavior in the system. There are countless results you may need to take into account. And the only way to explain this is to understand how the system works.

Can you tell us more about the work on the ztC Edge release team? What challenges have you faced and what are you most proud of? So, the original goal of the ztC Edge 110i was to make the system as easy to use as possible, to operate and function without client or end user intervention. It looks like an integrated artificial intelligence, so that the system itself, along with the way the architecture is designed, has many proactive features. If it detects any hardware or software failure, it will help fix the problem - be it load balancing, sending alerts, etc. to automatically fix and avoid downtime. The fewer people have to tinker with the system, the more successful we will be.

One of the great new features is the guest tracking feature, which has indeed been requested by some customers. It allows you to monitor applications running on a virtual machine using the ztC Edge system management user interface. It also sets some parameters and thresholds, so if the back-end application reaches its threshold, you will be notified.
